Since I was unable to edit my earlier post regarding these 3 Ruger Six Series revolvers-here are their pictures, in this new thread:
1)First up, is the 150 series(Old frame)blue 4" Security-Six .357 which is a very early first year model(S/n 150-0248x):

Well, you certainly have a couple of "Beauties" there! Keep looking and eventually you will find a nice Speed-Six! Although, I know that the Speed-Six is now the hardest one to find! But, in recent years I've discovered that all of the six Series revolvers are becoming very difficult to find and are much more expensive now!

Very Nice! Thanks for the pics. Fairly new convert to the Six Series, but they are slowly winning me over as my favorite. "Thou shall not covet".... Dang it!

Wow!
Lots & lots of BIG pictures!

I pity the fool with a dial-up modem and no prior warning!

You live right, slick. Those are great guns.

I bought a 4" HB Security Six new in '81. It's been my favorite ever since, even displacing my Python. Would love to find another like it.

Bought a GP100 and then a 586 awhile back, thinking they might be the answer. Not even close.

I agree with your thinking. I bought two new 1979 consecutively numbered stainless Heavy Barrel 4" Security-Sixes from a deceased Ruger collector's estate a few years ago and these are still NIB. Then, 2 years ago a found a mint later(Updated)4" Heavy Barrel stainless Security-Six that was slightly fired that I do shoot sometimes. And yes, they are wonderful revolvers! I had a 686 that I just sold as well as a couple of GP100's-but, although good guns, they just don't give me the satisfaction I get from owning the "Six Series" revolvers!

I wish they still made the GP with the half lug. That is one of the reasons why I own a 6" Six.

I love these guns. I really wish Ruger still made them

Anywho, here are some of mine:

1)Those are all real "beauties"! You have good taste!

2)Is your bottom 2-3/4" stainless Security-Six the same one in your first photo with the original wood grips on it? Or, are these two different 2-3/4" Security Sixes?

3)Is your (150 series)4" Security-Six a model RDA-34(.357)or an RDA-84(.38 Special)which would be quite "Rare"?

4)Like you, I wish that Ruger still made these wonderful Six Series revolvers!

slick6,

1) Thanks, I have more that I don't have pictures of as well.

2)They are two different 2-3/4" Security Sixes. The one with wood grips is wearing hogue's in this pic:

3) Its a .357. I can't find the 38 SPL model, yet.

mesinge2-- Is the last gun (4" blued) a 150 series? If so, where did you find the rubber grip?

skidder, it is. I actually made that grip.

I used Pachmayr Presentation Grips for a Ruger Redhawk. If you cut down the rubber that butts up against the gun then the grip fits right on. Also, use a 1/8" drill bit to cut out a space for the roll pin of the Security Six's grip frame on both halves of the grip. And make sure to only go in a tiny amount. Too much and you risk going straight through the grip

1)By not finding the(150 series).38 SPL model, yet, did you mean that you already have this model(RDA-84)or, that you haven't been able to find(acquire)an RDA-84 yet?

2)Your two stainless 2-3/4" Security-Sixes are nice. I have two of these also-one is NIB and the other one is like new without the box.

I don't know why, but I'm just not enamored with adjustable-sighted guns.

I had a very nice S&W M66-2, but let it go for a 1911.

Seeing that Service-Six, has me drooling.
That's one gun that's on my wish list.
Now I just have to figure out how to afford one. :(
