30-06 M2 Ball 1969 Lake City....

Out of a Garand. Seems to be working in Texas. I wouldn't count on any bullet not being bent out of it's flight if it hits a twig, though bigger has got to be a little better. I'm shooting in the hardwoods but wouldn't take a shot of any kind through leaves and brush.

220 has got to be near the top weight for a 30 caliber bullet.

If it's working and you like it, I'd keep using it.

MCgunner not sure what you mean by ranges you have shot at, but I can testify that bullet has done very well out to 300 yards when I was young and foolish and take those long shots. Now days I don't let my shots stray beyond the 100-200 yrd range for deer and elk. I even like the round in the heavy woods, because if it comes in contact with a branch it is toast instead deviating and possible wounding an animal.

I like the 165gr round as an all around .30-06 bullet. For deer only the 150gr bullet is fine and for elk the 180gr and 200gr bullets are fine.
