Idano, I'd be a little afraid that bullet would come apart at some of the ranges I've shot at. Out west, ranges are longer and I'm sure the 125 works fine. Seems to work for you, anyway. Might be a good bullet for 7.62x39, too.
Out of a Garand. Seems to be working in Texas. I wouldn't count on any bullet not being bent out of it's flight if it hits a twig, though bigger has got to be a little better. I'm shooting in the hardwoods but wouldn't take a shot of any kind through leaves and brush.
220 has got to be near the top weight for a 30 caliber bullet.
If it's working and you like it, I'd keep using it.
MCgunner not sure what you mean by ranges you have shot at, but I can testify that bullet has done very well out to 300 yards when I was young and foolish and take those long shots. Now days I don't let my shots stray beyond the 100-200 yrd range for deer and elk. I even like the round in the heavy woods, because if it comes in contact with a branch it is toast instead deviating and possible wounding an animal.
