What light bullets/loads do you guys like for .30-30?

I was looking at Hornady 110gr RN and Sierra 125 gr HP/FN specifically.

These would mainly be used for killing paper, but I suppose varminting could be a possibility down the road.

The powder on my bench is Win 748, but I could always try something new.

Thanks.

In my load notes I have: 125gr Sierra and 27.5gr of H4198 gave a 2301fps ave velocity over my chrony. Was shot from a 20" Marlin with Microgroove.

If I was going to play around with that bullet today I think I'd go with a much slower powder, like Reloader 7, AA2015, H322, or IMR3031. 30gr of Reloader 7 looks like a good starting point.

W748 could be used but it's probably to slow for best results. Reloader 7 has always been a favorite of mine for .30-30 and wildcats derived from that case.

Im useing IMR 3031 with a 130 grn fp in my win m94 3030. its running around 2100fps at 32 grn of pdr. (this works in my gun) . startin load per lyman #49 is 29.5 to 33 grn of pdr. 33 shows a compresed load.

The 110 HP speer is all I load in my 30-30 lever guns. I have others to shoot larger game with and find the little HP's work good and shoot relatively flat.
