300 PRC or 30 Nosler

I have seen a lot of Hornady 300 PRC factory ammo on my local stores shelves.

Not sure if that is an attractive option. Break-in ammo with reload able brass.

Yeah that is nice to see! I didn't think Wisconsin had big elk for hunting with a 300 prc lol! My cousin in Colorado has one for Rocky Mountain Elk.

They actually do have an elk season in Wisconsin. Last year they had 4 tags for residents through application and 4 tags for the Ojibwe Tribe. The hunt is held in the Clam Lake area.
I think a 300 PRC would be ok for whitetails in Wisconsin. I have shot a few with 300wsm and 300WM. I have lost count of the number of deer I have put in the freezer with 7mm Rem Mag?

Ive used alot of 30 magnum on sheep and deer, works fine shoot heavier bullets slower or lighter harder bullets

I decided on the form I wanted to duplicate for the stock a while back. This one……



Over the holidays I found a guy selling some English walnut stock blanks for a good price ($125). I was back and forth on this one but decided the grain is too straight.



I’m wanting something with a little more dramatic figure to it that isn’t outrageously priced.

Bottom line: I’m still shopping for wood
