HELLO ALL,
I'M NEW TO THE FORUM AND HAVE JUST BEEN CHECKING THINGS OUT A BIT. I AM LOOKING FOR A HIGHLY ACCURATE LOAD FOR MY .300 WINMAG. I WILL BE LOADING 190gr SIERRA MATCHKING MOLY BULLETS, BUT I HAVE NOT YET WORKED UP AN ACCURACY LOAD.

ANYONE OUT THERE WILLING TO SHARE THEIR LOADS I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT. THIS LOAD WILL BE USED FOR VERY LONG RANGE SHOTS (1000YDS +).

THANKS IN ADVANCE,
:D

Well, I don't load 300 Win Mag, but can you turn off the caps lock and quit yelling at us? It's kinda considered rude. Thanks.

SS,
I strongly urge you to try on V.V. N160 and/or N165! Start just a grain below Vitha Vuouri's maximum recommended load in each case (the Finns are pretty conservative in this regard) and work up a half-grain at a time from there. If your rifle is a thoroughbred in the first place, the performance (in terms of both MV and accuracy) you're gonna get with these propellants using Sierra 190-gr MKs is gonna tickle you!

BTW, you can view the whole VV reloading manual through their website.

Don't lock yourself in to 1 bullet, either. Barnes bullets are awesome, as are Nosler. I load for the .300 WM, too. I like the Barnes TSX and Nosler Ballistic Tip bullets very much.

SS,
Don't be afraid to hunt with Sierra MKs, either. They're unlike all other match HPBT projectiles in that the jackets are much tougher. The .338 cal. and heavier class .30 cal. MKs will penetrate deeply before breaking up in even heavy-bodied game animals. I've shot BIG feral hogs with 175-gr MKs in a 7mm Remington Magnum rifle and they did a fine job of dispatching the ugly bastards. Of course, in the two cases where I did this, the hogs were almost 400 yards away. Might get some pretty different results if you pop something with them inside of 200 yards out given your .300 WM potency.
