You can always beat dwell time with port pressure and volume. If you look closely the bullet is sticking out of the end of the barrel and yet the gun cycles.

No doubt. It's been a long time since I first saw that video but if I remember right the backstory and whole point of that gun was about proving a gun that short could work and that short dwell time and short gas system lengths where things that could be over come. It was about proving functionality not practicality.
