I know sometimes these get used in mosins, these .311 balls.

I have used them in .30-30 levers.

HAve a hankerin to try it in .308 win.

Anyone ever done this ?

Tryin to think of a starting load for a 60ish grain lead round ball.

Wonder if its even worth trying- just wanna try somethin different in a bolt action.

I've been using 000 Buck from Hornady. They are 0.350" and run them though the 0.314"
sizer for use in my Mosin. I think they end up about 67.5 grains or so.
I've been using Unique, but it seems to be a bit too slow.
Leaves quite the mess, and unburned flakes everywhere.
Just doesn't create enough pressure to burn well.
I think I might try some Red Dot next. Hopefully it is fast enough.
