.308 Win Tula 165 gr soft point fired from 22" Springfield M1A into calibrated 10% ordnance gelatin. I was very surprised by the performance here. What do you think? Would you trust this ammo for defense? Hunting? At 10$ for a box of 20, where does this fit in?

Impact velocity: 2,418 fps
Penetration: 16.5"
Retained weight: 150.8 gr
Max expansion: 0.712"
Min expansion: 0.533"

What's its accuracy? If its sub 2 moa I'd not hesitate to use if for everything but long range precision shooting.

Privi 165 gr JSP-BT that MidWay had "close out" priced a while back ($0.65/round) so I stocked up since I getting sub 1.5 MOA from it in my RPR at 300 yards ( suspect a more experienced long range shooter could do better with it). If this Tula is as good I'll be all over it!

I've been mostly using the Hornady 155gr Steel Match which is shooting a little tighter for me than the Privi (its $0.85/round). So far I've not done significantly better with some of the more expensive match ammo, so I figure I need more work so something I can afford to shoot more of would be most welcome.

I've had no reliability issues at all with Tula, I shoot a lot of it in 9mm, .223 and 7.62x39. The current 9mm is that same silver color bullet. Looks kind of cool, I've not noticed any other differences with it.

I don't typically shoot for groups because the accuracy performance in my rifle doesn't really tell you much about what it will do in your rifle. That said, I am a little curious so I think I'll probably do a follow up video for accuracy and velocity. If it does as well as M80, that's good enough for most defensive use. I don't have a scoped .308 so the best I can do is about 3 MOA or so when things are perfect.

I'll certainly be looking to get some and try it in my RPR at 300 yards.

I'm working on clearing a sight line to go longer at my friends ranch, but they are having another grand baby so this is on hold for the next week or two (weather will be cooler too, big plus!)
