I just bought a Savage 10 Precision Carbine. I would like to buy a 10 round magazine. I would like to know if I have to buy it from Savage or would any 308 magazine work?

If I can use any make, could someone please recommend a good brand.

Thanks!

Not absolutely positive but I think you're stuck with a 4 round mag in that rifle as it is. I'm pretty sure it can be modified to take M-14 mags. I'd run an internet search to find who was doing that modification. I'm sure one of the gun boards would have some discussion of it.

Maybe I'm wrong...
A quick Google search of:
Savage Model 10,.308 10 round magazine
turned up quite a few Savage options but I'm not sure they would work in your rifle without modification. I think they are for the Law Enforcement model.

There's only a few options that I know of. Suppliers and LEO can order 10 rounders direct from Savage (no one seems to stock them) and I'm told from the one guy who did this it took 6 weeks for it to arrive and was $125.

The company Sharp Shooter Supply makes them for $65 (click on Mags & Ramps): http://www.sharpshootersupply.com/

The company Vbullprecision sells them in 5 packs only for $495: http://www.vbullprecision.com/parts.php#content
