.32 Long RCBS Dies

Question. I am watching a set of RCBS .32 Long dies. They are labeled .32 Long RN. I assume they are older than the advent of .32 H&R Magnum. Do these dies have enough adjustment in them to produce .32 H&R Magnum.

email RCBS and ask them. someone here might know, but I once asked RCBS an odd question about something I was trying to do, and they sent me some components to make it work, and refused me when I tried to pay them, they said don't worry about it.

Don't know about RCBS but Lee carbide 32 long will work for 32 long, 32 H&R MAG, and 327. Had to get a 32 ACP seating die to make things work with 32 short though. As long as there is room in the die for the brass to enter it should be OK. But as said ask RCBS for the answer.

Straight wall cases generally can be used to load the whole family of cartridges. The RN on my Lee dies kinda rolls the edges of wadcutters and semi wadcutters a bit but not bad. Just gotta be a bit more careful to get them close to vertical when loading with the wrong nose profile. I had RCBS dies and it was worse about deforming the bullet. I’m not really sure why because the seater stems were pretty similar. When I ended up with 2 sets I gave one up with a 327 revolver. I picked the Lee dies to keep because they worked better for me. Buy once cry once… except the cheapo is the better one in this case.

I did some research and learned a little bit. Instinctively I probably knew this but with most dies it is said to best to buy for the shorter round and adjust up as in from Long to Magnum as apposed to ling to short. If you think about the .38/.357 dies they use a spacer to accomplish this. I just think this set might be from pre H&R Magnum. RCBS sells new sets as Long/Magnum. .327 is a separate deal. So that may be the answer.

I think the Hornady 32 Long dies will size even .327FM. When the 327 first hit the market, there were no dies for it anywhere.
Someone with Hornady 32 Long dies found this out.
As far as RCBS, like the others, I can't say for sure.

They should work just fine, as posted, they can do the shorter .32 Long, so the mag cases just won’t go up in the die as far, after being correctly adjusted of course.
