That's a beautiful tool. And you shot a deer with it...Broke out the Remington model 14 with thumbnail safety this afternoon. Built in 1914 and still punching holes!

Yes they did. Thumbnail safety is fairly rare. Carbine length is kinda rare. Finding a 35 with both would be tough and most likely pretty expensive. There are a good number of rifle length 35s out there but they are the most sought after of the rifle calibers and command about $100 premium over 25, 30, and 32 Remington.
Never heard of the thumbnail safety. I looked into it and a carbine model in 35 rem with a crossbolt safety will fit the bill for me.
141s are very similar and can still be had pretty affordably and they are much more common to buy and nearly all of them are in .35 Rem.
