Has any ever hear of this: 32 ACP Rifle Chamber Insert I found it on Sportsman's Guide. Is this the rough equivalent of a squib? Isn't 0.32 bigger than 0.308, or the 32 ACP really a 30 cal round? Anyone ever tried this?

FYI the .32 ACP is also commonly known as the 7.62 Browning. Same diameter as 7.62x51. (.308)

Though I haven't tried that, I have recently purchased a Hammond Game Getter from Brian Hammond of Canada for my .303 Enfields, available here: http://www3.telus.net/gamegetter/ . I wanted something quiet that I could shoot on my property without alarming/annoying my neighbors and couldn't be happier. It used a modified cartridge (available in dozens for different chamberings, including .308win) that accepts a buckshot (0 or 00 for .308-.311) and a .22 blank, the type that are used for cartridge-actuated nail guns.
Because it uses the .22 nail driving cartridges, you have 4 power levels to choose from. In my Enfield, this allows me the flexibility of pushing the 53gr buckshot pellet from 300 FPS (gray #1 cartridge) to 1100 FPS (green #4 cartridge.
I use brown #2 cartridges that drive the pellet around 600-700 FPS. From the Enfield, the report is about that of an airgun, far less than a .22LR rifle.
My first shot was at a 700 page phonebook that it cut clean through at roughly 25 feet. next shot tore through a pine 2x4 with enough punch to dent the heck out of the 2nd 2x4 placed behind it. I have no doubt this would dispatch small game without the slightest hint of trouble.
Although slow to reload and a bit pricier than the unit you're looking at ($35 USD), it allows you to choose your power level AND you get to use your C&R rifles.

I just got my .32 to .308 adapter from the guide yesterday. I plan on getting to the range today and I will tell you if it works! I also have a 7.62x25 to .308 that I will be trying out today as well. I plan of bringing my chrony to see what a little 85gr tok round will do out of a 25" ishapore barrel....maybe 2000fps?

That Hammond adapter is a really neat idea. I don't really have a practical use for one, but I want one anyway.
Years back you used to see a bunch of the inserts advertised in the back of gun mags.
I believe it to be more or less a novelty item . Twist rate in most cases is going to be all wrong but then that is just theory , hard to guess how well or how bad they might work.
Velocity is going to be way low compared to the regular rifle round so major sight adjustment will be required.
I reload so it is easier to just do a cast bullet or reduced power load.
The Sierra manual lists at least one reduced load for most rifle rounds . I wouldn't mess about without this guideance as the posssibility of sticking a bullet in the barrel looms large , doing so and then fireing another can "ring" the barrel . This is a bulge that ruins the accuracy of the barrel.

Actually it is known as a 7.65mm Browning. Both Speer and Hornady loading manuals list bullet diameter as .312 for the 32 Automatic.
Along those lines, swaged 00 buck with a grain or two of 3031 powder, cotton filler in a 308 or 3006 works great for squib loads. OR This

Well I got to the range yesterday with both chamber adapters, 1 box of remi 71gr MC .32 ammo, 50 rounds of wolf 7.62x25 JHP, 100 rounds each of romanian and bulgarian surplus 7.62x25 ammo, my chrono and my Ishapore Enfield.
Here is the good part, BOTH adapters worked like a charm!
The .32 adapter was accurate (POA) out to 30 yards, but after that you had to start adjusting your sights up (for 50 yards the sight was set on 300 meters!). I was shocked at how quiet it was and there was ZERO recoil. It is a great combo to use to teach beginners or remove vermin in urban areas. The little .32 chronoed out at an average of 991fps with a few shots cresting 1000fps.
The 7.62x25 adapter was AWESOME! It shot POA out to 75 yards. It was MUCH louder and had more of a kick, but no where near .308
it was more like .410 shotgun. The ammo chronographed out at:
Wolf JHP average-1751fps
Romanian-1823fps
Bulgarian -1890fps
For inexpensive plinking ($.09-.10/shot) the 7.62x25 to .308 cant be beat. The .32 to .308 is a bit more expensive to shoot (~$.24/shot) but it is still a lot of fun!
