Anybody ever used a "multi chamber" adapter for a Mosin?

Looking through the sportsman's guide catalog and found this, http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=603830 a chamber adapter letting you shoot .32acp and .32 S&W long in the mosin. My only real reason for looking at this would be a cost savings. It seems that the .32 rounds are cheaper than new box ammo of 7.62x54r but there is really no cost savings when compared to surplus ammo.

Just looking for some feedback on if this is a good item to toss in the range bag. Any disadvantages? I imagine this essentially makes your rifle a single shot unless you used multiple of them.

I have something very similar for my .303. I am totally going to buy one of those. Thanks for the heads-up:)

Is there a point to that insert, beyond possibly allowing you to share ammo with your Nagant revolver? Surplus ammo is about twenty cents a round; there's no way .32* can be cheaper than that.

'sides, wouldn't you need to worry about bullets getting stuck in the barrel? I've seen .32ACP and it doesn't exactly look like the stoutest stuff...

For 15 bucks...why would you not try it? i like the quiet aspect, and it must pat your shoulder instead of smacking it.

You can justify the purchase Cause you're maximizing your current gun's potential.

i think it looks kind of cool, kinda takes away from the effectiveness of the rifle but it would be a neat little gadget, and im sure you wouldnt feel the recoil at all if you were trying to teach someone to shoot, or just wanted to give your shoulder a break.

Might be neat for shooting pests with. If I had a Mosin, I would buy one, more because I like having the option to use other caliibers in my guns and if it is only $15, why not?

And then your early twentieth century Soviet battle rifle can share ammunition with your Kel-Tec!

I've got one for my .30-06, a gift from a friend. I calculated I could reload .30-06 for the same $-so it sits unused. If I didn't reload, I'd use it for plinking or varmint control.

I have something similar for my G3 clone. It is an adapter kit for 22 long rifles. I think it gets as much range time as does the 308. It is a lot of fun.

I bought one that allowed you to shoot .22LR in a .223 chamber, and used it for quiet single-shot plinking in my mini-14 (back when I had it). With a .22 Long CB in there, it was about as loud as a pellet gun. The adapter will usually feed through the magazine as well.

The only downside, as I see it, is that after you shoot it, you have to eject it, take it apart and remove the empty case, reload the adapter with another round, then reload the adapter into the rifle. Although if you could afford 5 of them, you could at least shoot a magazine at a time before having to stop and reload the adapters.

Be advised that .32 ACP prices are sky-high right now, if you can even find it.
