Thru a family inheritence, I recently acquired the following rifle:
Interarms Mark X-- .338 win.
On the left side of the barrel it is marked ".338 win."--doesn't say "win. mag.", just "win". In removing the barrel and action, from the stock (absolutely filthy) the bottom of the barrel is marked "Federal". Based on this info am I to assume this is a .338 win. mag---or .338 Federal (doubt it) but need to ask. After hours of elbow grease, the rifle shows very nicely. Very good deep black finish on the metal, medium oil gloss finish, on a stock exhibiting a unique grip and a "roll over" cheek piece. Bore is bright, with prominent lands and grooves. Action is obviously some breed of Mauser. Trigger is smooth (small creep) with a break at around 3 1/2 #'s. I know absolutely NOTHING about this rifle--or the round- .338?. Help me out here guys. I been at this shooting thing quite awhile--just really un-informed on this particular cannon. Thanks
