What kind of groups are you owners getting? What ammo (factory only, don't reload for it)? What rifle? Looking at them for this deer season. Seems to be a shortage of ammo tho.
BCA upper 18" barrel AR-15 with Hornady 170gr Interlock SP. Shot at 100 yards, this was 3 of the first 20 down the barrel. I had to single load each one as this rifle was a single shot until I modified the barrel chamfer and feed ramps.
I've been shoot 180gr Winchester white box, does fine. Only animal I shot was with a 147xtp handload, and that a bit out of the operational range for that bullet.
This was the Hornady 170SP into water jugs at 100 yards. Stopped in the 5th jug and weighed 155.7gr. That bullet in a factory load and handloads have been accurate for me and this performance shown, I see no reason to shoot anything else.
I know it’s been a month but have any of you had trouble feeding? Dad picked up the Ruger Ranch version and got more stoppages than rounds chambered. I haven’t had a chance to look things over yet but new, cleaned prior to firing, factory mag (Duramag 5-round). Any tips appreciated before I tear into it.
For my part, I was zeroing my T/C with Hornady 170 SP Whitetail Hunter. Put 3 on paper at 25, moved to 50 yards, made a scope adjustment and fired 2 into an figure 8 at 2x. Even at that magnification the entire target dot was obscured by the crosshairs. My daughter then took 1 shot at 100 yards on a 6” orange spotter and drilled it nearly dead center.
I have a Ruger Ranch in 350 Legend. It was rough clambering at first, can't day I had stopages but certainly really needed to close the bolt with authority. I have 10 and 20 round dramas and had trouble with my first 20 rounder. Duramag replaced it and I chambered much smother. For me it seemed to be more mag than rifle but I didn't have stoppages per say.
Accuracy wasn't very good at first but after 50 rounds or so I am getting MOA out of the Hornady 170gr handle ads and 1.5 MOA with WWB 145 grain range ammo. With a suppressor and sub sonic this thing is a hoot to shoot.
I just received some Winchester super suppressed but haven't tested them yet.
I rid the bolt body of its chatter marks, polished things up carefully, and sanded the underside of the mag feed lips till they stopped cutting casings. A bit of grease, wicked fast trigger polish, and I think it’s good to go. @Stormin.40 I think you’re right on the magazine, he’s got two more on the way so if the current doesn’t work out...
I am not sure how stupid or smart like a fox Walmart is but this is a brand new CVA bolt gun in .350 Legend and there were two of them in the cabinet, fresh, new stock.
I would love to have this round in a Marlin 336 platform.
