That would take a few steps out of the process.

The remaining question is what is the minimum taper that would be reliable.

That and being able to use cheap/free range brass is a moot point if you have to buy new brass to start with.

Up thread in the post were I compare 9mm Luger, 357 Magnum and 350 Legend I quote those dimensions and tolerance exactly along with the same dimension from SAAMI's 9mm Luger and 357 Magnum. I wan't making those numbers up I took them direct from SAAMI.

    well....maybe I won't try....
at least in my gun the chamber is too tight for .358 dia bullets. I CAN chamber them, but have to mortar them out.

    pictars of the difference.

left to right .355-147, .358-180 (scratches came from me not the gun), .358-220
The 220 is just run into a fired case, and it's got plenty of tension.

Who's barrel are you using? Have you done a chamber cast and measured it?

it's an Bear Creek upper, and haven't gotten to cast it.

Interestingly enough, the expander in my Lee set is sized for .357-358s I think. if I run a case all the way upto the flare, a .355 drops right into the case, and it holds a .358 perfectly.

running a .358 into an unsized case works fine too.
