Hard to say from the picture. I think they will either expand or bust into pieces. Depends on how soft the cast is.

So true. Unlike solids which have a lot of lee way as far as alloys go, casting good HP's requires reducing/eliminating the antimony, and increasing the tin. Tin ain't cheap, but it's necessary to give you some hardness without the brittleness associated with antimony. I like to have my HP alloy consist of about 4% tin and < 1% antimony.

I voted truncated cone but i ment to vote SWC!

I will say that for full power loads in my 357 i like jacketed bullets best.

Made from thr right stuff, I imagine they work great. What has your experience been? They certainly look good.

First ones I made, I made from an alloy that consisted of wheel weights with a little pure lead and tin. They fractured badly. So, I seriously reduced the amount of wheel weights which contains antimony, and added a whole bunch of pure lead and tin. Much, much better. For the velocity range that I operate in (1000fps - 1100fps), a 25:1 (lead:tin) ratio alloy is where I want to be. Hope that helps.
