I'm planning on picking up a new pistol after the first of the year. I've already got my bases covered in the 9mm and .45 departs so I've pretty much decided that I'm going to go with something in 357 SIG.

My question now becomes what are my options in this caliber? I know Sig Sauer makes at least the P229 and that Springfield makes the XD but what else is there? Any opinions and experiences would be welcome and appreciated. Thanks.

SIG also has the 226 for a full sized duty-type double stack pistol, and the 239 for a smaller, more concealable, single-stack. Both are available in 357 SIG.

Just about any pistol that comes in 40SW can be had in 357SIG. Often the manufacturer will make both versions; if not, usually the only modification necessary is a barrel swap.

I've owned a Glock 32 and will likely own one again... Either the Glock 31 or 32 makes for a fine 357SIG platform. The 33 is a little too small for me but might be perfect for your hands. Or just buy all three. :)

I bought my 239 in 40 cal. and then I bought the 357 barrel later on. So I have two guns in one and alternate in cal. carry. I do like the 357 Sig better though :) .

You might want to give the SIG SP2340 a try , I have nothing but good things to say about mine .

Another vote for the SIG 229 & 239. I bought both of mine in 40 and have the drop-in 357 SIG barrels. For some reason the 239 requires a 357 and 40 specific mags but with the 229 the same mag will work for 40 & 357.
