I recently purchased a 90% new P229 in .357SIG because it was a really good deal. However, ammo is getting pricey. I don't shoot reloads and when I am at the range I use Winchester WinClean. I can pick up a new .40S&W barrel for $149. Can anyone tell me if there is a big difference between the two calibers, such as recoil, etc..? I have an SP2009 and I am all set with that one, it is a blast to shoot and very easy to control, especially when I rapid fire. Thanks in advance.

I have a 229 in 40 and have shot one in 357. I couldn't tell any differance in recoil. If you can get a barrel for that price, GRAB IT! I can't find one around here for less than $225.00.

Thanks for the response. I think I am going to just get the barrel. If I don't like it I will just go back to the .357SIG barrel!
