It's all FMJ for a class this weekend. I can't tell you what it weighed, but it all filled the bed of a Mazda B4000 4X4 pickup truck that didn't have any problem driving the 10 miles to my house so we could off load it.

I've had 50,000 rounds of AK ammo in boxes of 1k in my Rav 4 before. We drove it from Louisville KY to Knoxville TN. I'll grant it had the little critter squating almost all the way down on it's springs.

And, yes, I did think about what a traffic stop would look like in both cases.

cacique, I moved up to North Fla from Miami the end of March. The ammo pile was 5 feet x 5 feet X 4 feet, and golly was it heavy! I packed that in the front of the UHaul 26 foot truck, but the springs were sagging.

I thought I was the man when I ordered 2000 rounds of .45 and 1000 rounds of .30 carbine from Natchez....hmm. Also 36,000 rounds of your biggest round,.45,wouldn't take up that much space. That's only 36 cases.

Once I bought 200 rounds of ammo at Wal-Mart.The clerk,who appeared better suited to a store like Abercrombie or any other preppy store,asked me what I was going to do with "so many bullets". He looked at me funny the whole time after I looked him right in the eye and replied,"Stuff."

I certainly (for his/her sake hope so).

I took a handgun class that consumed 1000rds in 2 days and it was as much .45 shooting in 2 days as I could take.

My hands hurt for a week after that.
