I just bought this two beauties in .36 Cal.

Pietta Remington 1858 New Army & Pedersoli Liegi Riverboat Derringer.

Im looking for some loading data for both of them. I have access to swiss blackpowder and the german wano blackpowder. Im very grateful for every suggestion since .36 Cal is not very common in germany.

I have the same revolver,Pietta made. The Remingtons can hold a bit more powder than the Colts. With roundball you can load up to 28 grains of 3f or Pyrodex P. I just recently loaded mine with 22 grains of Pyrodex P and a 130 grain Lee conical bullet. Average velocity was 921 feet per second which gave me 245 ft/lbs of pressure. Thats a potent load. The derringer you have looks like the .36 cal version of the one I have. I have the .45 cal version. I unscrew the barrel and fill the chamber with about 10 grains of 3f 777 which gives me about 550 ft per second and 80 ft/lbs of pressure. Don't know if the .36 is loaded the same way. Those are both well made and fun guns, enjoy.
