From those that have ever seen or used it, was the change from large primer to small primer an improvement. I regularly run into cases like 45 that have both and I like having the option. Large primers were available long after the spp were gone, but I've seen spp back and only lpm pop back up.

I converted some 38 special and 357 magnum Star Brass to Large Primer; then used Large Rifle and Pistol primers to test. Here are some of the results.
I did use a TC Encore in 357 magnum for first test, but GP100 and Ruger blackhawk.
I did get some great numbers with the Large Rifle.

I drill half the depth of the primer pocket with a #4 cobalt drill bit then finish with an RCBS carbide large primer uniformer.

I haven't came across any large pocket 38 or 357 brass yet. If I did I would probably treat it like small pocket 45s, recycle box. Are you converting them for better ignition or lack of small primers ?

Way back in 1955 just about all the brass dad and I had were lp. Shortly later it was all small that we bought.

This a 300 blackout i was working on. Moving it from small to large there are other guys doing it to.
