Yes I said .38 special, you bulls eye guys remember em'! I need some help finding magazines for a 70 series colt 1911 converted to .38 special by John Giles. Any help is greatly appreciated. Any body know what these guns are worth now?

Do you need mags for a factory Colt 38 midrange wadcutter gun or one that was converted over to 38 from a 45?

If you have a factory 38 wadcutter gun, mags are available from time to time on gunbroker.com.

Try Clark Custom Guns. Jim Clark was one of the first to make a 38 spec 1911 and his they still do the conversions.

Might try this too.
Gil Hebard Guns,

The Gil Hebbard Co. was huge in the NRA Bullseye game when the .38 Spl. 1911's were going strong. Don't know anything about them now, but it couldn't hurt to ask them.

Thanks for the info guys, I actually thought it was a converted .45, in fact it's a MKIV 70 series super 38; converted to 38 special. Its my dad's gun, one of a set of 3 Giles bulls eye guns. He's been having a very hard time finding mags for it so I told him I'd give him a hand. He's the second owner of the set and has had them since the early 80's; I'm surprised he's never had to try and get mags till now. Clark's website shows a couple different mags for 38 special, I'm going to give them a call and hope one will work. Thanks,
Mike

Clark had the mags in stock, I believe they show them on their website. FYI, I went to my dad's place this weekend, it looks like the mags are Colt factory super 38 mags, that's what it says on the bottom of the floor plate. If they are modified in any way I do not know, but it doesn't look like it.
