Gloob, what revolvers are you referring to?
My S&W's and Rutgers all have threaded barrels and frames.
You are confusing the uber tight interference fit of newer (cheaper) manufactured revolvers barrels vs. the older pinning method used by S&W.
Interference fit induces "thread choke" or squeeze to the throat of the barrel.
I have a Glock (owned several others-past tense!), no way they'll shoot close to my revolvers, cast or otherwise.
I did have to do some radical fire lapping to my Ruger Single-7, however.
