I set up my LNL-AP to reload 380 for the first time, and found that 380 brass is too short to fully activate the powder measure. I screwed the measure adapter (aka lower assembly, aka powder die) all the way into the die bushing, until the adapter contacted the shell plate, but that was still not low enough to active the measure all the way.
The only other adjustment available to me was to move the upper bracket up on the threaded portion of the powder measure, but that would mean that I'll have to readjust my entire collection of caliber-specific measure adapters (aka powder dies). Not a project I want to take on.
So, I ended up unscrewing the drop tube a couple of turns. It worked, and I get full powder measure activation when I run .380 brass into it.
I'm wondering if this is a good long term solution to my problem of reloading .380 ammo or whether there is a more elegant solution. Like a longer drop tube or a longer pistol powder sleeve, for example.
