I just got an LnL AP and the associated powder measure won't throw two consistent charges to save its life. I'm trying to measure AA2520, a really fine ball powder, so that shouldn't be an issue, but somehow it clumps in the rotor/drop tube and fails to drop consistently. Any ideas?

I think that may be the case, as powder grains are sticking to the side of the hopper. How does one fix static problems?

Wiping the outside with a damp cloth will be a quick fix. Wiping it down with a used fabric softener sheet, they are antistatic, will aslo work.

Best long term fix is to disassemble the measure, wash it in hot soapy water, without rinsing, dry, and reassemble.

Wipe inside and out of hopper with fabric softener sheet and/or take apart and scrub with hot soapy water--rinse well and thoroughly air dry.

Edit: Oops! I don't type as fast as Shoney!

Success!

I disassembled, cleaned with brake cleaner (man that stuff smells bad), and washed in soapy water, air dried, reassembled, and now it's throwing plus or minus less than .2 grains on a 45 grain charge. :)

Now to load some 30.06 for my new 03A3.

KaiserBen,

Now install a RCBS Uniflow Powder Measure Powder Baffle - http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=493217 an it will improve your consistency. I just loaded a 100 round of .223 and weighed every tenth dispense and everyone of them read 23.1 using DP2200, it's a ball powder. When using a flake powder in my Hornady powder measure with the RCBS Uniflow Powder Measure Powder Baffle installed I see maybe +/- 0.1 grain deviation.
