I reloaded about 20 .380 ACP. !00 gr RNFP X-treme w/2.6 gr Titegroup. It's just range brass all trimmed to .675. I think I screwed up, I used a Factory reload to get the bullet seating depth in the Lee bullet die. Did the plunk test everything looked good, but thought I should check w/calipers COL. It looks like .950, the factory round came in at .945. I looked at the loading info on Hodgdon and a couple of manuals and everybody is at .970 or .980. Do I need to get my bullet puller out and take them apart and do a redo?
Thanks in advance.

What specific bullets are they loading to .970 and .980? Are they using the same bullet you are?

I load .380 acp with Xtreme 100gr plated FP at .950" COAL. That .005" is about the thickness of a piece of printer paper I wouldn't be to concerned unless you are at a max load.
I would not worry to much about trimming semi-auto pistol brass, JMHO most of it is close enough.

The COAL listed by bullet manufacturers and load manuals are guide lines to get you in the ball park. They are not etched in stone gospel numbers that you have to go by. I use the plunk test to find the optimal COAL for my guns. Use your barrel and the bullet you are going to load to determine the correct COAL for your gun. The plunk test has never failed me yet.

.380 and titegroup has a small window, but you should be ok. I load the same except I'm at .970

With some range brass I've had to keep a close eye on neck tension and set back so maybe double check those.
