Pistol ammo is gradually returning to the Wally Marts in my area, but I still don't see any 380. A clerk at one store said they don't carry 380. Is this true for all stores? Any 380 sightings?

Ammunition is allocated to those stores based on volume of annual sales. I've bought upwards of ten .380 WWB 100 round Value Packs @ WalMarts in the Dallas area without much effort over the last three months.

Here in MI they carry it but it costs more than 9mm.

380 is just one of those rounds where it's hard to justify buying a pistol for it when a 9mm can be had for the same size, yet firing a more potent round.

Evil Monkey always throws in a biased, unrelated answer. :D

One of our local stores had some WWB .380 in stock a few weeks ago.

How many rounds and what price was it if I may ask. I can get fiocchi in .380 but it is 26 for 50. Not at a walmart though the gunstore

Just picked up the last 5 WWB .380 at my nearby Walmart. Clek said it never lasts for very long and I believe him. And forget about being on a waiting list and them calling you when it comes in. The one clerk I always find there in sporting goods said that there's no way he could call over 20 different guys when all they get in is one carton of .380 ammo. First come, first served.

Not hard to justify at all. I've got several 9mms. None are near as small and light as my LCP. (and that's as big a pistol as I care to put in my pocket)

Agreed. Pistol ammo has been plentiful at my local Wallys...especially 9mm (which was particularly hard to find last year IMO). But not much 380 laying around...good luck

I just bought 1,200 rounds of handgun ammo from a fellow who was helping liquidate an estate. $10 per box of 50. 9mm, 38spcl, 357, 45acp.........and 5 boxes of 380's plinker ammo.

What 9mm pistol is smaller than any of these?

Kahr P380
Seecamp LWS38
Ruger LCP
KelTec P3at
Micro Desert Eagle
Taurus TCP 380
Diamondback DB380

They were the 100 pack WWB boxes. I can't remember of the price. I'd guess they had 6 or so boxes, but I didn't count or look too closely due to the fact that I don't have a .380. I want to think they were around $30 a box, but I may be totally off as I can't remember and I didn't look closely as I didn't have a use for any.

I am also in the DFW area and have not seen any .380 at any local W-M in well over a year. I have four W-Ms within striking distance (two in L-ville, one in Bedford, one in Highland Village). I visit at least two regularly (once a week or so), the other two occasionally.

Obviously this is nowhere near frequently enough :(

The price for the WWB 100 rds. .380 that I just bought at Walmart was $33.97. Before that, the last box I bought from them was over a year and a half ago, and it was $31.47 back then.

The .380 Taurus disappears in my pocket holster and packs well over 100 ft lbs, and shoots quite accurately and hasn't had any feeding problems. My wife can pull the triggger with one finger (which she can't, for a revolver).

I was nervous about reloading it at the start, but using the Lee Turret, and their automated powder thrower (with the micro disks) it is very easy to reload. There is plenty of room in the case to seat the bullet (Berry 100 grain RN) .020 short of the lands, and still have about 0.100 above the Win231 powder. The cases are very easy to reload. I bought 100 Winchester unprimed brass to supplment the original box of loaded that I started with, and several boxes of Berry's. $20 per 50 is more than I want to pay, and I find reloading very relaxing. To each his own, but the scarcity doesn't bother me.

If reloading is interesting, find a fellow who does it and read a manual as well. A great skill to pass on to your kids.

Local wallys had about 10, 100 rd WWB for $32ish. as of this morning. I passes as I just found some and dont shoot it THAT often.

I've been in three in the psat few days in various parts of the state -- Willamette Valley, Central Oregon, Eastern Oregon -- and not one of them has any .380; in all cases, the clerks also indicated that they haven't seen any .380 in recent days or even weeks. Plenty of 9 mm at long last, but no .380 to be found. Too many LCP owners, I guess. :)

Saw some WWB .380 at the Wal-Mart near Ridgmar Mall in Ft. Worth a few days ago, along with plenty of 100 round WWB 9mm. I've been having no trouble getting .380 online or locally at Cabelas for the last few months.
