I was in my local Wal-Mart today and noticed they had an M&P 15-22. The price wasn't anything spectacular ($400) but then I noticed a flyer on the counter. Apparently Wal-Mart is getting into the AR selling business, the flyer said they had Bushmaster Patrol carbines coming soon. Their price wasn't spectacular, either ($944) but I'm still generally excited. If Wal-Mart is willing to carry those scary looking rifle maybe they'll be more generally accepted.
Now if Wally would bring back handguns...

also spotted a Remington cammo'd AR at wally world when picking up some ammo the other day (Huntsville, TX)

Certainly interesting, though only one store out of four in the nearby area is selling guns. The only high capacity semi-auto rifle they have is the Ruger Mini-14.

Cool, so far my local one, that just got firearms back in the last 6 months, has so far only had Mini-14's "in stock", but they have a big catalog they can order from.

Please try to keep this discussion focused on Walmart selling ARs and avoid commentary about your personal feelings about their business.

I think that's great. More outlets will help make EBRs less scary.

I'm wondering if the Mossberg ARs will be picked up like this.

The Mossberg product is certainly less 'fudd' looking than the Remington R-15. It'd be a good sign of wider acceptance if we start seeing them too.

All the walmarts around me in central downstate Illinois, six of them, no longer carry firearms.

My local walmart in Vero will order you anything in their catalog. I had asked about a 930 spx, they had the 5 series, It only held 5 and was heavy, and i didn't wnat to add parts myself. So the gal pulled out a large catalog, and I asked her anything in there I can order, she said yes anything, they had muany rifles and shotguns, 3 autoloaders in stock. I had no time to go through this encyclopedia, but they have gotten very loose up here..In Vero.

The Remington AR 15 is basically meant to be a hunting gun and doesn't look evil. After all, some stores will carry a Mini 14 with a wood stock while not want to carry the Tactical model when its just a larger mag, different stock and a flash hider.

I'll have to swing by the local W-M to see if they have ARs in stock.

I honestly like the Camo'ed Remington AR's. Hopefully my local Wally world will start stocking them. Typically they only have .22s, muzzle loaders and bolt actions.

This is great to see. Any time we have more options, the better. Next, maybe we can get them to carry scary handguns... one step at a time

I got a flyer from them in the mail showing all sorts of guns mostly hunting but they also showed a mini-14. funny thing is nether of our local wallmarts carries guns, they carry ammo but not guns. I guess you just need to ask them to order it
