Can some Colorado and Arkansas folks chime in here? It appears you have to have at least a 4-inch barrel for CCW while hunting in these two states. My question is... Can an Oklahoma boy traveling in your state still have a SP101 2.25" as a carry gun if I'm not hunting?

I was checking out states that border mine on:

Colorado

What about CCW while hunting
Colorado also requires a 4-inch barrel on personal-defense handguns, and concealed carry is not permitted while hunting.

AND

Arkansas

What about CCW while hunting
State Law requires all personal-defense handguns to be centerfires and have at least a 4-inch barrel. Bowhunters in Arkansas may not carry personal-defense handguns while turkey hunting.

I don't know about Arkansas, but there is nothing on the CBI webpage restricing carrying concealed while hunting or limiting the size of the gun. On a side note, this year a law was passed stating that your home address needs to be in the same state that issued you your permit. For instance, you can't carry (legally) in CO if you have a UT permit but live in CA. If your ID is from OK & your permit is from OK & you're not hunting with that gun (see below) you're OK.

CO CBI:

CO Revised Statutes:

On page 7 you'll see under than Handguns section that in order to hunt with a handgun it needs a 4" bbl, but that section, as well as the "It's Illegal To" section that starts on 7 & runs onto 8 there is no mention of a CCW for defense.

I've never heard of that AR statute but I just sent an email to the Dept. of Game and Fish and i also left a phone message with the State Police Office on Concealed Handguns asking about it. I'll let you know what I hear.

Thanks everyone.

I just picked up my CCW license from my local sheriff's department this past Monday. My physical address and CCW license are all in Oklahoma. I'm thinking I need to check each State's Bureau of Investigation and Attorney General's Web sites for the most accurate information.
