had someone interested in my glock 30sf for sale today. Told him 400rounds through it max and he was not interested in it anymore. he said it was way too much. what do you guys think?

think he was trying to low ball me or I was a newbie and drop the price for him because it had 400rounds through it.

in the email, he said he would meet me anywhere and the price was good. after all that was said and done, he brought up his wife into the picture and said he had to talk it over. then it was too far of a drive, blah blah blah. what a flake.

Just read an article on replacement barrels for a G19. The cop that owned the gun had 88,000 rounds through it, and had no idea how many were put through it by the drug dealer the weapon was siezed from. Groups had opened up a bit, but a new barrel tightened it right up.

He's not only being flaky, it doesn't make much sense.

I would hope that the gun gad at leat 200 rounds through it, meaning that it had been tested for reliability. How can he possibly know if it's a couple of hundred or a couple of thousand?

I like Glocks because they are the gun I can pick up used and not really worry about how many rounds have been through it. Not saying they're impossible to wear out or damage, but you have to get creative.

He was looking for an excuse to not buy it. You provided him an out. 400 rounds in factory Glock barrel is nothing. A Glock is just getting broken in at 400 rounds, and would not even need to be cleaned yet.

Barely broke in. It takes 400-500+ rounds for the recoil rod to stop skweeking when you rack the slide on a 19. I don't think the dual spring recoil rod does.

I'll bet the weapon had less than 10 rounds fired through it when it was confiscated. I've heard many funny stories about people coming into a store and asking to purchase just enough rounds to fill the magazine of the Jennings or Lorcin.

So the data point is that at about 88,010 rounds fired, you will need to replace a Glock barrel.

Personally I do not like Glocks. I turned down two free ones, but 400 rounds through a Glock, or most any other pistol, is nothing.

In a used gun I'm way more concerned with the care the gun receives than how many shots it's fired.

Maybe he thought you meant 400,000. 400 rounds is only a couple or even one trip to the range. Thats just crazy. Did you tell him to got to Academy or somewhere and buy brand new than.
I am seeing NIB @ this price
For a G 30 sf?

just more proof that the Glock can't handle the real world. Kimber suggests 500 rds to get it warmed up. Glock is junked out at 400 rds. Now I understand why you're to sell it. for safety reasons you should send it to me for disposal.

I have put over 1000 rounds through my G17 on a training day. Glock are known to go 100,000 rds plus without any breakage. Peter Kokalis did an article on his G17 with 170,000 rds, nothing broke, and it never malfunctioned. He also never cleaned it.

Glock has guns that have gone several thousand rounds.

400 rounds is a good day at the range.
And with only one of the guns in my range bag at that!
But some folks may not shoot 400 rounds in a lifetime, so it might seem like a lot to them.

only 400 rounds ?

gun won't be broke in until you shoot maybe 5-600 rounds every weekend for about a month.

I shot 600 through my glock the first day i got it.
Make sure he didn't think you meant 400,000.

I've never even seen 400,000 rounds before.
like jackstinson said, many people buy a pistol, put one magazine through it, and leave it on their bed post or in their glove box for the rest of their life. So he may have found 400 rounds shocking. People freak when i tell them i have put 800+ rounds through my long range rifle. Maybe you could sell it on gunbroker.com?

I have 400 rounds through my CZ97B .45 (yes I know its not a glock) but your average person would consider it brand new. 400 rounds in a glock is nothing. If its clean I doubt other then the wear on the muzzle end of the barrel from the slide, you couldn't tell if it has 2 rounds or 1,000. I rather buy a gun that has 400 to 1,000 rounds through it then a gun that has 4 or 10 shot through it. To me the value between 4 rounds and 400-1,000 shot through a gun is about the same. Once its been used its used, be it 4 shots or 400.

I had to change the barrel in my first G17 at around 70,000 rds. It had well over 100,000 rounds when I sold it to a friend. It was an early, 2 pin model- the new ones are a little stronger.

It sounds like that guy needs a clue.

The price is fair for a g30sf w/ factory night sights. have had lots of people interested, but they are in dallas, san antonio. I showed the flaker this thread and he hasnt replied to my email yet. lol.
