.410 shotgun information

The place where my father-in-law works has a guy about to retire and the guys want to get together and buy him a .410 shotgun. He knows that I am into guns and asked me who currently makes a good .410 pump and what the price would be.

I checked out Remington and know they have the 870 in both the express and wingmaster versions but I was wondering if any other companies made pumps in .410.

Like wdlsguy said, but your best bet is the 870. Depending on what you want to spend, the express version is good, but quite a bit rougher than the Wingmaster version.

I would prefer the Wingmaster myself, but the extra money spent is questionable.

If you really like the guy buy him a Winchester Model 42

The model 42 is nice, but a little out of the price range. $500-$600 is the limit so it's looking like the wingmaste or BPS.
