I suspect you are going to get a lot of responses warning against using RN bullets in lever actions. It is pure hogwash, especially in .44. RN were commonly used in the originals and I would dare say there isn't a single documented incident of a round with a RN bullet being set off in a feed tube.

I can see the concern in using fine tipped bullets as they are not much larger than a firing pin at the tip but I will continue to use RN in all of my lever actions with confidence.
 
I tend to agree, Schwing. The radius on this bullet's nose is relatively large & I doubt it will be an a problem - I'm just always looking for experiences others may have had. I used RNs in my M92 Win 44-40 along with the old 42798 200 gr RNFP but didn't push them very hard. I doubt I will push these much over 1200-1300 fps, if that fast, to avoid leading. I'm thinking 10-11 gr Unique and maybe some moderate 2400 loads, but this is not going to be full-up magnum experience - I hate scrubbing lead out of lever actions :cuss:
