I am in "need" of another 44 caliber C&B revolver. I have a few in mind. Either a Remmie, Walker, or Dragoon. I have a few 1860's but I have the fever now. Does anyone know where I can pick up a 3rd model Dragoon? I hear Cabelas does an xmas day sale on black powder guns so I'm kind of waiting for a sale. I'm really leaning towards the Dragoon after seeing some I posted about in my last thread.

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated. I am also not apposed to a Remington

Thanks

Uberti would be the choice unless you have someplance on the high side of a grand and enough time to wait for a USRA one to be available.

As far as suppliers for the Uberti, Taylors has always been my choice. Use a little Google-Fu and find who has them. They are far less common than other models, but they are around.

Thanks Willie,

Taylor's looks like they have them in stock for $416 to my door. I looked a few other places and saw cheaper prices but nothing in stock. It's in my shopping cart ready to go. I'm just trying to decide whether to impulse buy, or wait and search a bit more

Well, so much for waiting.... I hope they are in stock cause I have just ordered a 3rd model Uberti made Dragoon! Handling the pair of originals made me do it...

Were it me I'd have went with a Walker. I love the history behind it (the gun that resurrected Colt), and the fact that 60 grns was a rifle load.

My ROA often brings someone by to ask questions. I can only imagine how many a Walker would bring!

And bigger's better in America anyway!

I think a Walker will be next, then a Remington. You can never have too many! I can only imagine the fun a 60 gr charge would be. An attention getter for sure!! 50 grains out of a Dragoon isn't a slouch either

I feel I have plenty of oomph from my Ruger. But more certainly can't hurt!

I'm curious why the 3rd model over the others. I like the square trigger guard, but then I have smaller hands and doubt I'd have issues with it. I figured the 2nd model would have been my baby, but that Walker just calls my name in my dreams!

If a Le Mat wasn't so expensive I've had one by now I think. Other than it and a Walker I'd have to say I feel I need a couple of more Remingtons unless I could find Rugers at a reasonable price.

If you saw my thread about the pair of third model Dragoons, I guess after handling them, I had to have one.

I would own a ROA if they weren't so darn expensive! I remember when they were cheap!! I'll own one of those someday too.

That pair of Dragoons may be mine someday, I guess I'll have to live with a repo for now. That's okay cause I'm not sure I would shoot them more than once just to say I did
