Hi--

About to break into the .44 mag reloading. Mostly at special velocities and some mid-range magnums. I've loaded many thousand SWC from MBC in 357, but I like the 'look' a bit more of the RNFP's--any one with accuracy experience? In my personal experience, they differences in RNFP and SWC in 357 is not measurable...

I also know the SWC Keith bullet is the gold standard and everything else is just blasphemy in the .44. Perhaps I just answered my own question!

Thanks for the help.

Really like MBC.
No way to tell which your gun will like best but, (Just to be safe try both and find out! :) )
The SWCs will cut cleaner holes in paper and clean holes are neat.

I'm loading MBC 240gr SWC over 24gr 296/110 and can keep them on a paper plate at 100 yards with my 7 1/2" Redhawk.

Handguns are just like rifles in that you can work up good accurate loads with patients for many different bullet brands, weights, and profiles.

That isn't to say that between these two they will like the same powder at the same charge, but either of the two profiles has shot very well for me from multiple revolvers in several calibers. If I don't get what I am looking for with something like 296 I back off to 2400, then on to AA #9. If nothing shows promise there I will switch to something a bit more mundane like HS-6 or Unique.

You don't always have to have blistering velocities to get great performance, or penetration with these type and weight bullets.
