Hornady 44 magnum, 180 grain XTP JHP

Firearm was 4" barreled revolver

Block calibrated at 10.9cm and 613 ft/sec.

Single shot impacted at 1571 ft/sec and penetrated to 12.6". Average recovered diameter was 0.743".

And they hit like a b*tch. I hit a deer in the sweet spot behind the shoulder at about 80 yards or so with one of those and it fell stone cold dead. It looked like it knocked him over instead of folding him. The barrel was 7 1/2" though, not 4". Heck, they usually live for at least a few seconds when hit with my '06.
 
I'd say it hits just a wee bit harder than a bitch. That's just hearsay, not personal experience :neener:
