Under normal market conditions, we can keep the supply chain full by making popular items on a regular basis and keeping specialty or less-used products on a seasonal basis. However, with demand at record levels, it has become difficult to justify shutting down a machine to change it over to produce a product of less demand. Therefore, we are temporarily suspending some items in order to focus our efforts on the most popular and highest demand products and ship more total product.

This has been the case for several months. Several manufacturers have suspended or set back production of certain items in order to maintain production or meet demand of others.

It's only business sense. I wouldn't expect any less from a company that also has to make a profit.

I have two boxes of their loaded ammo using that bullet. It says "Custom" for the cartridge line.

I don't routinely load self defense ammo, but I do have two boxes of their 200 gr XTP in .451.

I am currently loading just lead, 180gr round nose flat points LRNFP from Friendswood (nice). The charge is 7.5 gr SR4756.

It figures that I pick up my 1st 44 special revolver (Taurus 431) yesterday and find that the small number of factory loads for this caliber has gotten even smaller.

:p wnycollector. Seems like it's time to start reloading. :)

I have been reloading for the 44 special for almost 30 years amoungst others and am happy to do it.

What they are doing makes good sense to me.

They may not distribute the bullet, but that doesn't mean they aren't making their brand ammo with the bullet. For example, I have waited months for .38 caliber 140gr FTX so I can reload the shorter Critical defense cases. No joy, but I believe the boxed ammo is still around. It has only been a month or two since I purchased what I have in .44 Spl, 180g, XTP Custom.

Seems like it's time to start reloading.

I know I do. When this last ammo scare hit I swore I would start, but thus far my work bench is still cluttered with tools and saw dust rather than reloading presses and supplies;) Now that I have the 44 special and 45 colt, it looks like I need to start hinting to Mrs. Santa that a reloading press would make a fine Xmas gift.
