This is not a matter of someone, somewhere, "claiming" anything. Or teasing. :)
Patience for those wanting a Ruger factory .44 Spec GP may be rewarded in the very-not-too-distant-future. Quite possibly twice, in fact.

Wooooosh. Maybe I can give up having reluctant lustful thoughts about Charter Arms. I'll stay right here until I hear something more.

Same here. I was thinking of pulling the trigger on a CA 44spl, but I can hold off for a few months.

Chambered for 44 Special, I'm in for a GP.

It will be a nice addition to my other 44 Specials.

There is something special about shooting 44 Special in a gun chambered for 44 Special.:)

Be a great companion for my original Bulldog (too light), my 624 (too big), so it would be (just right).
Hope they have a 3.2" barrel. Make a great pair with my .357.

I am hoping, no praying, that Ruger puts this on the California list.....I have wanted a WC GP forever, but to no avail... Please Ruger, Please

There is also a 2.75" S&W 69 on its way. It looks to be a good year for .44 fans.

Well, isn't this good news. I was about to search for a 696 and be willing to pay for it... because they're not makin' *those* anymore. Dang!

And wait 'til you see what the U.S. Mail is bringing to a California FFL I'm having to use instead of my usual CA dealer (who's swamped with AR-15/A.W. shenanigans and not taking transfers until the smoke clears)... a .44 Special New Model Blackhawk! Yeehaw.

I bought my dies five months ago... :D

Interesting to note that Lipsey's product manager claims 44 Special is his personal favorite. There are signs of that in their previous work with Ruger.

So much for the embargo.......

I ain't aware of any embargo & have not given out either specific details or time frame.
If & when Ruger officially announces such a gun or guns, it can still be a total surprise. :)

I'm in. Recently bought a second-hand Bulldog, but I want a 3" GP in .44 Spl to go along with my 3" GP in .357. I've been posting about my desire for one of these (along with a .41 magnum) for a long time.

No need to send him anything else.
Just wait & watch.
And have your credit card warmed up.
