Use the Taurus 441- 3 and 4 inch barreled guns for CCW carry in a Falco IWB holster.

Gold Dots usually get the nod but have some BVAC 240 gr. LSWC that also get used from time to time.

Charter Arms? When I think of Charter Arms. I think of a garbage can. That is where trash is placed. The older 44's from the 70's / 80's were ok. But todays Charters are TRASH!!! Run away, buy a real gun.
Dont bash me now. My opinion.

Arizona...is this opinion based on your personal use of the guns or Internet hearsay?

Received the new 445 ultra lite in stainless finish. Took the ribbers off and replaced with older style one piece compact frame rubbers. Second weekend of carrying in Null plastic upside down shoulder holster, under short sleeved slightly over sized button up collared shirt. Tested and loaded with custom loaded 200 gdhp.

It is controllable to shoot, although split open skin on inside of thumb on shooting hand, after 25 rounds. The crane locks on the side, allowing a longer stroke to eject empties. Relieved some sharp edges, and slightly modified the holster to fit. Much lighter than the 445 stainless it replaced. About as powerful am willing to go in compact light big bore.

The wife isnt to happy with me wanting to get a gun without a safety for carrying.
A double-action revolver is a safe weapon. It was the default police carry weapon for about 100 years. Most unbiased shooters will agree that a double action revolver is safer than a 1911 or a Glock. If you cannot carry a double action revolver safely, you should not be around a firearm...period.

I did mention that i would not have one in the chamber where the hammer hits.
Again, it appears as if you lack a fundamental understanding of how revolvers work. This was good advice with an old single action revolver, but that has nothing to do with the workings of a modern, double-action revolver.

Do your homework first. Then convince the wife.

IMO the best safety for a CCW is a properly fitted leather or kydex holster (no generic nylon "sacks") that covers the trigger guard.

That was reasonable for old-fashioned single action revolvers which could fire if the hammer was struck while down on a round, but is totally unessessary with modern double action guns. All it does is rob you of 20% of your firepower in a 5-shot gun like the Bulldog.

I carry a S&W Model 624 with 3" barrel in .44 Special.
Shiny! Great looking carry rig, Black Sky.

I think Charter had some problems under the previous management. My understanding from people I trust, is that the current, original family management has brought QC back up. If true, that's a good thing, as the old Charter's were serviceable guns for their intended purpose.

I'm going to pick up one of the current Bulldogs and check it out. Loaded with the new Buffalo Bore hard cast full wadcutters, it would make a great walking around the neighborhood with big critters around gun.
