I'm getting into reloading for the 45/70 guide gun, the only lead bullets im finding are the performance bullets that run $30+ per 50. I'm looking for something cheaper just to plink with. Any ideas or recommendations?

Free buckets of wheel weights are few and far between now a days. I bought lead this weekend. I picked up about 250 pounds. Paid about .50 a pound but about 210 of it was pure lead, much easier to deal with than wheel weights.

I just did and I'm interested but have some questions.

What's the alloy mix/BHN?
Why .457"?
My barrel slugs just over .458", currently .459" cast shoots well for me. Can you accommodate this?
Lube: you using a tumble lube better that that crayola junk?

Thx

Hi Asherdan,

Our 45-70's are cast with 20:1 alloy. The 0.457" diameter is a happy medium. How many are you interested in purchasing? We use our own proven blackpowder lubricant - it is not crayola junk. We manufacture only very high quality cast bullets with our very high quality bullet lubricants - nothing less. You will receive 100% very high quality bullets. You should demand that ALL the bullets that you purchase are 100% very high quality - not scrap. For you see, DARDAS = very high quality.
