Dear Sirs and Ma'ams,
Aren't I just loaded with questions today...
Anyway,
I am still searching the archives, but while I am at it:

I know the info is out there somewhere, i just dont have it; but has anyone any 45-70 loads using the Barnes Solid bullets, or something similar like the Belt Mountain Punch bullets, etc?

Just to save someone the typing: this is for a single-shot so no worry about detonation in a tube magazine; and I am not trying to make a 458 Win Mag out of this- just a 'regular' 45-70 load will suffice.

Thanks in advance!

Are you talking about "Banded Solids " ?? What are you going to use them for ? Have you asked Barnes ?

any actually

Banded, Monolithic, non-banded, whichever info you have is what I am looking for. Though very specifically, the Barnes 458 Mag 405gr Banded Solid seen here:

http://www.natchezss.com/category.c...219&subCategory=219&catLevel=2&prodID=BX45828

But in a 45-70, used for my own fun and games; nothing more.

I asked barnes and they said that a supplemental to a published reloading manual has the info, but nothing more specific than that. I assume that they meant their OWN manual, but they weren't exaclty friendly with the info and I can understand since they are trying to sell things.

So I am hoping that someone here will save me the cost of the entire book.
