Hi, I am looking for a take down or new barrel chambered for 45/70 or 2" .458 mag. cartridge to fit on my siamese mauser action.... or if a barelled siamese action in 45/70 is available I am also interested.... if available i will prepare the necessary export-import papers as required by the US-Canada law to brig it to Canada . The documents are not required if the barrel is alone.
Thanks for your help, Regards

Your best bet would be to locate a local gunsmith in your area who does re-barreling work.
He can provide the barrel blank for you.

A Mauser barrel has to be fitted & head-spaced to each & every individual action using a barrel vice & action wrench, lathe, chamber reamer & headspace guages anyway.

If you find one in the USA, it is not going to just be a DIY screw-on job to put it on an action.

BTW: The rimmed 45-70 would require less action modification then the belted .458 x 2" to fit the bolt & feed right.

Thanks for your interest, actually I am aware of all the modification involved, but I am looking for a use barrel at reasonable price if I could find one... all the rest I could take care.
Thanks, best regards

45 cal

I built a 450 Marlin on a Ruger m77 bolt action .Works very well . Strong action and good factory loads if on wants to shoot factory ammo .

450 marlin

I a fellow from the Yukon saw the rifle and had to have it so I no longer have it in my possession . I never shot anything but factory ammo as I was trying to build up a supply of brass . If you need one built I still have the reamer and headspace gauges . It had lots of punch and the reliabilty of a bolt action .

Hi, I found the barrel will be rechambered in 45/70, I will be sending the action State side to be match to the barrel any days, as I will get the export papers...
The action is in great shape, but was missing the floor plate, the spring and the follower... I made the floor plate using a P17 floor plate, cut the rear portion to proper lenght, trim the side and weld on the catch for the rear latch, it work perfect, but the follower and the spring I am not happy about... I follow the suggestion of fellow that apparentely was on the same boat, used a P14 ( .303 british also a rim cartridges ) need to trim the back portion to fit, but is to narrow, spring from 03 Springfield magazine also with 3/8 cut away from the bottom part, it work ... but not the way I would like.
Any one with the same experience and solution..??
Or better if any one as the original part for sale please PM I am a buyer.
