I find that even the plain lead bullets made by Missouri Bullet and such have enough of a bevel to them that you do not have to flare your brass. Thay is IF you inside chamfer your brass first.

This does mean you have to police up your shooting area before you shoot so unprocessed brass does not get into your fired brass to solve sorting issues. This works with all my brass wether rifle or handgun. The only time I flare is when using coated bullets, to preserve the coating.
