Greetings:

I would like to know: Has anybody here used .452" jacketed bullets (for .45LC) in their .45 ACP, .45 Super, or .460 Rowland reloads? I know that they CAN be used, and I would like to use some 250 gr. XTPs over Longshot in .460 Rowland. However, I need some baseline of comparison. I don't want to just randomly guess a load and have it blow up in my face. If I have a few data points, I may be able to get an idea and proceed from there with an abundance of caution.

I know that 460rowland.com has loads for 260 Speer JHPs in True Blue, Power Pistol, and AA-7. But I wanted to see if anybody has loads using 250 grain jacketed bullets, or loads using Longshot, or loads using both. But any load you have for .452" jacketed bullets in .45 ACP, .45 Super, or .460 Rowland would be great.

Thanks

I reload 45 ACP and 45 Colt. I dump all the bullets in a bin and grab a handful when I need them. .451", 452" , .454" lead and jacketed each go in their own bin. If I'm out of one I grab a handful of something else. Makes no difference. The .454's are a little more accurate in the SAA's ( ACP AND LC ) but nothing to get excited about. I run cast and lubed 255 grain .454's with 7.3 grains true blue in the ACP auto's and they dont complain one bit for 900 FPS . I run typically 9.3 grains of true blue in the 45 Colts with a 250-255 grain bullet for 1000 FPS.
