How come airguns? Well, like handgun and bow hunting, its fun and challenging. Another bonus is that it opens up places to hunt that would not allow a centerfire due to the range and the noise.
Plus I can shoot 250 slugs weighing 250 grains for about $39.

The ranch we hunted is primarily a bowhunting ranch that allows a limited number of firearms hunts. The owner is getting into airguns and has allowed us to hunt with the bigbores. Ranch rules for now are shoot the brain.
He himself has a 300+fpe airgun that he has killed a 145 lb boar with putting a 255 grainer thru the vitals. However we were hunting some hogs that were 300+lbs, and as a general rule he thinks it best to limit the shots to the brain for now to err on the side of caution. Hogs are tough.

Other than my air rifle, there was a single tube version 909 modified to produce 298fpe with a 205 grainer, a home-built air rifle putting out around 280fpe with 205 grainer, and a DAQ air rifle putting out about 500fpe using 420grainer. That air rifle is a BEAST!

All of these air rifles have proven to be very accurate.

I am thinking the 20 gauge will be anything but quiet LOL! Can't wait to find out!
