current barrels on old Contender frame

Hi Folks,

I have an older version T/C Contender frame (from the mid-eighties, I think, certainly before the G2 series) and some 10" barrels. Does anyone know if the current crop of barrels will fit the older frame? Or if anyone besides T/C offers such? Tried calling T/C but they are closed for another couple of weeks. Thanks.

i am pretty sure they will fit,,IIRC i read some where that TC says that too,,, might be in a mid-south cat or midway cat,,,,,,i have an older frame and i put a 223 barrel on it last year,,, fit just fine,,,,unless they have changed something lately

My frames are old vintage frames and have no problems with the new barrels. Now the new frames have some issues with old barrels if they don't have the split lug in them.

I have a 2nd generation T/C frame that has had some issues with the newer 17HMR and 204 Ruger barrels that were designed for the G2. Both of them had to go back to T/C for modification (one of the T/C gunsmiths explained the problem to me but since I'm mechanically challenged it went over my head) as the action would not fully open up after a round was fired. The 204 Ruger is fine but the 17HMR is causing problems with the firing pin. I've sent the frame back to T/C twice for repair and if it happens one more time I'll sell the barrel.

Thanks, as always, for the quick, helpful responses. There are several gunshows coming up in the next few months in my area and I wanted to be prepared for any potential bargains. And since I, too, am mechanically challenged (and that's being generous) it helps to know the possibilities even if I can't follow the mechanical details.

nice thingsin in the pictures. I have Contender -and G2 frames. Barrels: .22 Hornandy and 9mm Luger 10". .357 Rem Max 14" and .223 Rem 21" with carbine things. Only .223-barrel goes not to G2 mechanism.
