Well that's ok we glockers are just find with that,i think most law-enforcement
carry the standard 22 glock.Well my department carries 19,0r the 22.but the law-enforcement went to the 40 if i think i can remember is because the 45 was a little too much, and the 9mm was not enought stopping power.

Kindrox,
Glad to hear of your contentment with the RPD, and the city. I did live in Richardson a little over a year ago, and no, there is no requirement to live within the city limits. Most of my LEO friends do not live in the city where they work, as they view the entire city as their office. Kinda hard to leave work behind when you live there, or so they say. I may relocate to Richardson at some point, but my residence is a very easy 10 min commute to the station, so I'm not sweating it too much.
True, the majority of shootouts I've read about in Richardson started in Sachse, or Dallas, or Garland... and wound up somewhere along hwy 75 with all RPD called in to help. My hope is to have a long gun for any situation such as this to arrive. And to be sure, I'll likely post again with a similar question about which gun to buy (hoping they might issue these though). I'm hoping I can have a black rifle in my car at all times, and use this in any such situation.
Finally, I know Plano is issuing Glock 22's, so I assume this will be a more prevalent firearm in most holsters in the area, but I have seen some marked variety, and therefore will base my selection on my own personal taste, rather than trying to fit in with everyone else's selection.

Oops, I asked earlier how long the M&P has been available, but I mean't to ask how long the M&P.45 has been available, because IIRC the last time i checked the 9 and .40 were the only ones available.

The 45 came out around the first of June, IIRC.

The 9 and 40 models (full size) have been out for over a year. The compact version of those models have been out since around Christmas.

That's the world as I know it...
