is there a source for antique martini henrys anywhere other then the small amount "found" in the nepalese aresenal? same for the snyder cartridge conversion of british enfield rifles?

The Nepal cache guns are about the only reliable source for genuine British made Martini's.

A few are coming in from Afganistan, but these are often localy made and marked to make a buyer believe they are genuine British, while they are really "Khyber Pass specials". Not reccomended to fire a Kyber pass made rifle.

I bought a Martini Henry Mk.II rifle from Atlanta Cutlery last year. The wood was nothing special, but it is mechanicaly servicable and shoots fine.

The only other option is to just find yourself one for sale somewhere. Probably be a Nepal cache gun someones selling, or a Khyber pass gun somebodys getting rid of. However legit British made guns do turn up for sale.

I understand that the Snyders from Nepal are not British made guns, but produced in Nepal.

My thoughts on the matter would be that a IMA or AC sold Nepal cache Martini Henry would be both cheaper and genuine British made than finding one on an auction site.

Z71 hit the nail on the head.
IMA has the best selection of Martinis that I have seen, but then I have not been to the AC site in a while. Be prepared to pay far more for a Zulu period rifle. My friend likes to go out and play 24th Reg of Foot on the weekends and he picked up a nice safe to shoot MH from IMA.

FairFaxx, a dealer on Gunbroker often has or handles Martinis, he could probably find you something. Likewise, the Gunboards.com Martini-Henry forum has awesome folks that often trade around rifles if you're in a buying mood.

And lastly, and most awesomest, Martinis are antique. Find one in Canada, find one in the UK, find one in Oz, and you can have it shipped to the US with no paperwork on this end, and unless I'm mistaken, I don't think there's necessarily paperwork on the other end either.

Bezoar - a man after my own heart. I have purchased several Martinis from Thad Scott Guns over the years and have always received excellent service from him. He usually has a number of Martinis listed on his site, and I always found his prices to be fair.

Hope you find what your looking for... good luck.

well who has links to ammo tho? havent found anything more then a few diagrams on the buckshot loads, how they made the wrapped cartridges.
Im out of the high powered rifle with high powered scope gun for me. short range bullets that knock stuff flat.

More like knock things splat... I had a buddy in Oz who nailed a jackrabbit with a .577/450...
