So I picked up a couple of Chip McCormick 10mm mags at a ma~n~pa gun shop this week. The mags were packaged in factory zip-lock bags. I didn't take the mags out to inspect until I got home. Upon inspection I find that one of the mags is very clearly labeled 45ACP, someone must have pulled a switch on them. I was bummed because these were the last 10mm mags they had and the price was a steal. Just for kicks I loaded a 10mm round into the 45 mag, it fit, perfectly. I emptied the mag and dropped it into my 10mm Dan Wesson. If fit perfectly. I was going to the range today so I decided to do an experiment.

I loaded the 45 mag full of 10mm fmj's and slow fired the entire mag without a problem. Then I loaded it again and emptied it as fast as I could pull the trigger. NO ISSUES. The only real noticeable difference between the mags appears to be the small rib running vertically down both sides of the mag, presumably to better fit the smaller rounds.

My question, does anyone else use 45 mags for a 10mm? 10 mags being harder to find, this could greatly change things.

Whoa. I want to know the answer to that, too.

Have you tried using these .45acp marked mags in an actual .45acp chambered 1911? Small chance the CHEAP price could be caused by someone at the factory accidentally mismarking a magazine.

Yes, I ran a mag of 45 fmj through a Charles Daly 1911 today as well, no issues

I said the mags were a steal, that had to do with the gun shop. They were factory Chip McCormick mags, known for their quality.

I would not have expected it, but if they are working, take yes for an answer. :)

I use Wilson Combat magazines in both my .45acp and Delta Elite interchangably since 2004, with 0 issues (other than my kimber hating SWC's from ANY magazine)
